What is in a journal profile?
Our goal is to provide you with easily accessible information on each journal to help you research which might be the best journal to submit your research results.
Currently you can view:
- Title
- Link to journal website
- Link to Instructions for Authors
- Indicators for indexing by each of the three major indexers: Embase, Medline,
and Current Contents/Web of Science
- Indicator for "Open Access" as defined by DOAJ
- Click to search PubMed
Later in 2013 we will be expanding our profiles to include:
- Publisher
- Frequency of publication
- NLM unique ID
- Language(s)
- Country of publication
- and more ...

Collection Development
Our target is to collect detailed profiles of more than 7,500 journals in the health and life sciences that have national, regional, or international impact. We plan to build our collection as follows:
- Phase 1
available now ... more than 3,000 journals, including >1,950 journals selected for priority indexing by Embase™ PLUS >740 Open Access journals (click here for more information).
- Phase 2
more than 1.000 added to date ... balance expected Q1 2013 - we will add more than 1,300 additional journals that are indexed by all three of the major indexing services (Embase™, Medline™, and Current Contents™)
- Phase 3
(projected mid 2013) - we will add more than 3,200 other journals, many of which are indexed by one or more of the major indexing services.
